Meet the artist....

Jan Roblin was born and raised in Florence, Alabama. As a young girl she learned that two of the world's most famous people, Helen Keller and W. C. Handy, were also from her home town area. Both Keller and Handy became her role models as she grew into an aspiring young artist. Years later she was honored to be able to paint biographical portraits of these two courageous people, whose focus and determination has inspired so many to hold onto their dreams

In 1972 Jan enrolled as an art major at the University of North Alabama and in 1978 she opened Spanish Oaks School of Art near UNA campus. Today she continues to combine basic art from college with techniques of the "old masters" and French Impressionists that she acquired during her studies in Europe.

For over twenty years her unique style of teaching has unlocked creativity in her students, while inspiring them to become happier, more productive adults..
